Things said at NOT my AD

Browsing at AD and got a hard sell for a BB58 when I mentioned I have a relationship elsewhere. He said there’s likely to be a 5-10% TUDOR PRICE INCREASE September 1. Doesn’t sound right to me at all. Anyone heard anything along those lines? If not, it would certainly emphasize why I have a relationship elsewhere.

No tourneau in our area. From past experiences, much worse!
So - nobody has heard of a 9/1 price increase? Felt like I was buying a used Ford…..

No comments on a 9/1 Tudor price increase?
I’m wondering if he’ll throw in discounted undercoating and mud flaps if I go back and pick it up.

Is that going to get you to buy?

Consider how this is heard so frequently and you realize it is a sales tactic and nothing more.

If you want to buy then buy. If not then wait.

Kevin of Larchmont knows exactly who I’m referring to!
Kevin - said AD is across from my office. Ordered a BB58 from said relationship, but stopped by Cherry Creek with my wife (she wanted to see the watch) out of convenience. Even given previous interactions, this one surprised me!

Who knows. Maybe with things slowing down a bit Some ADs/SAs are falling back to these sales tactics?

I’m also in Denver and have a thought about which AD, but would be curious to know if you are willing to share.

Edit: never mind, confirmed above. I didn’t get a hard sale when I stopped by there not too long ago, but was pretty unimpressed with my interaction with the SA on the Tudor side.

That one Rolex and Tudor are kept pretty separate even though they are technically under the same AD umbrella. I guess Rolex operates as a boutique. I was looking (sorry talking) Rolex and asked about Tudor and had to be passed off to another SA.

When given the choice to wait a few weeks and buy from a business with integrity, there is no reason to turn what should be an enjoyable experience into something resembling a used auto purchase in the name of instant gratification. Happy to wait and spend my money elsewhere.
