Crown ding

Hello all:
I dinged my vintage watch on the crown and it doesn't seem to have replacement parts available. Should I polish the crown or laser wield it? Thank you!

Without pictures there's no way of knowing if it could be polished or if it needs laser welding.

I assume when you say parts aren't available, you mean from RSC? If so, it'll be worth trying elsewhere as some vintage Rolex specialists may be able to sort you out with a replacement.

What vintage watch are we talking about type of crown is it a brevet or one with just the Rolex emblem. As crowns and crown tubes are just normal serviceable items that are often replaced at normal RSC service.

Crowns are considered expendable and replaced all the time.

Older pm crowns are wrapped and not weldable, but even a SS crown would be hard to clean up after any welding.

Agree. If it isn't horrible, I would say keep rocking the vintage and just get it replaced at the next service.
