Surprising end to a sad week

Terribly sad week....RIP Ma'am

The mood lifted this morning after a surprise call from my AD who offered me the new Air King. A watch that I had keenly expressed an interest in after its release.

I love all of the changes made from the previous model. When trying on an exhibition piece a few month ago, it's very different on the wrist then the discontinued model, flatter, thinner case, wider, more open dial, giving everything room to breath, the 05 makes it more symmetrical to my eye too.

One of the most attractive things to me was I noticed the dial is also a more glossy black than previous, really stands out with the addition of the AR coating.

So it was an easy decision to make. Very excited to collect it in the coming week.

You will never forget the week - the week that we lost a great Queen, and you gained 2 new Kings - Charles III & your Air King.

Congrats! I have to admit, I LOVE the green and yellow on this black dial, really helps it stand out. I so wish this came in a 36mm version. I'm going to eventually go for the 36mm Explorer, but this one would be considered instead if it came in a smaller size.

For those without toothpick wrists, this watch is BEAUTIFUL, congrats on the pickup!

She was loved by many across the pond as well mate'. I share your sadness and extend my well wishes as your great nation grieves.

The Air King is a wonderful reference. My preferred three hander no date piece if I could buy one. Wear it in great health!

Very difficult to lose her majesty. She was such a huge part of our world for our entire lives. The King on your wrist is truly a classic and the new version is super in my opinion. Congrats! Long live the King!
