Control of lighting and background helps quite a bit for cheap cell cameras imho.

Most everyone on TRF knows of my love for RG and if all I had to go by was pics from the net I’d probably not be. Rolex RG online can look very very different than real life. I think it’s quite hard to capture without proper equipment. Online pics look more copperish than real life. While white and yellow gold look pretty much the same online and in real life to me and I’ve seen both. I mean look at this crappy pic of mine. Can you really see the uniqueness of RG? Not really. I think it’s helpful to have a YG or WG model beside one in RG and as others have stated RG is actually very subtle in real life. Waaaay less noticeable and blingy than YG. I tried on a YG DD the same day I bought my 126715 and was like nope.

Thanks for posting your pics. RG is the one metal I don’t have, yet…

Best option is to shoot raw, with a color chart, then do a quick pass in Lightroom or similar. Jpeg compression can wreak havoc on certain colors, in terms of presenting them as authentic. |

Take a look at this photo here. This is what Rolex's everose looks like in person.

Try photographing the watch with some black around it to block a bit of that reflection. You could literally hold x2 black t-shirts to the left and right (or play around with other positions) and it will likely make the everrose color pop. |

To get the true hue of any colour you need to shoot raw and post process.
You also have to understand that unless fully calibrated, every phone and monitor will not display the image correctly anyway. I spent 30 seconds with Screwley's first picture in photoshop (original is the bottom pic)

This is correct, the problem with shooting rose gold is 100% a white balance issue and can be corrected in post processing or with a camera white balance setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the tips. WB is one area of photography I haven't played around with much. I am familiar with post processing, but still need to play around with WB.

Here's my attempt at capturing my RG by placing next to other pieces for color comparison.

Everose and RG in general is my favorite PM. Couple photos from my phone which are a decent capture.
