Rolex day/date bracelet diamond question
I my father's old Rolex day/date from the 90s. He purchased an official diamond bezel from Rolex shortly after and many years later decided to get the band
This is kind of a 2 part question. I have a day/date from the 90s, it has an official diamond bezel from Rolex but also aftermarket diamonds on the bracelet. I was wondering whether it would be possible to remove the diamonds and have the band restored? If not roughly what could I expect to receive if I melted the band down and sold the diamonds? So that I could buy a replacement band and keep the whatever is left from the sale of the diamonds. |

It’s probably a hollow capped bracelet which is not that heavy and scrap value will disappoint you.
Perhaps just source another ? Any goldsmith can remove the stones and fill it up with gold but it is going to be labor intensive. I had my hollow bracelet filled with gold which set me back > 4K at the time.

Pics would help. Try LAWW or Rolliworks for removal restoration. Yes, you can buy a new bracelet through Rolex but it won;t be original is the watches are older models. or purchase a period correct version on EBAY or some such…

It is unlikely that you can sell the diamonds and melt-gold and have much more than the price of a good dinner out.
Replacement Day-Date bracelets without diamonds run around 25k or so.
