The future of the Yachtmaster

By the looks of things. Yachtmaster new releases are all with oysterflex.

It could only be that in time the bracelet versions will disappear and also be replaced with the oysterflex, and accompanied with the well wished for ceramic bezel.

Only conjecture but worth a thought.

I wish they would bring back the original platinum dial on oyster bracelet. Best looking version of any YM in my eyes.

This. For decades, Rolex has offered only metal bracelets on steel/TT watches, while having other options (traditionally leather) for some PM models (DD, DJ, Daytona, SkyD, Cellini).

Seems to me that it allows Rolex to price a certain segment of watches between the TT offerings and full-PM bracelet pieces. Putting rubber/leather on steel, though, would give the appearance of going down market, since it would underprice the stainless counterparts.

The reason all the new YMs are being offered with OF is presumably because all the recent entrants are PM.

Makes sense. A discontinuation of steel and adding oysterflex at the same price perhaps?

Again, I think it's unlikely. You couldn't do that across the line as it kills the TT, where the only way it prices above steel is the bracelet. Especially with the YM, where the steel has a PM bezel and the TT has a steel crown.

Would be strange, IMO, to offer steel and PM on OF and TT on bracelet.

Would also love for them to bring back the 16628, full YG with a blue dial. That would be my next PM piece for sure.
