Limited production?

I was browsing Subdial today and came across 116600 with the following description:

"The reference 116600 is a limited production watch..."

Why are they referring to it as "limited production" I assume it's purely to hype it up, because they have no way of actually knowing what Rolex production numbers are.

More like a limited run.. Was only produced for 4 years..

But the other thing sounds better when you want to sell it..

Semantics.

Anything produced from 2014 through 2017 could be called "limited production".

I hope everyone buys into the "limited production" hype because it's one of the watches I own. To the moon!

Ah, so they're linking it to a "short" production span. Ok, makes sense.

If we didn't let them do this to us, there would be no such thing as "paul newman daytona"

It was one of the shortest production runs of any Rolex model, only available for 30 months from late 2014 to early 2017...

Me too - though it is likely my son (born in 2014 like my watch!) will reap the rewards..!
