Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Strap and Clasp?
Anybody have any real time on their leather/rubber strap and pvd clasp? I’m worried they won’t age well…..the clasp certainly. Why the heck can’t Rolex Tudor make a ceramic clasp or pin and buckle like omega?

Had mine a year, the only issue I have is the little loops that hold the end of the strap have been fraying a bit. Other than that it is still as new

Wear mine a lot. In the pool and shower. So far holding up good. I don’t think it’s real leather. Seams more like and alcantara to me. The clasp however is not the most comfortable. I wish Rubber B made straps for it as that is the route I would go.

I just threw mine on a NATO with a black clasp. Cheap enough to replace if it wears out. I didn’t like the Tudor Leather/rubber hybrid.

Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Strap and Clasp?

I like yours, but the rubber B and Vanguard are custom fit. They are worth the extra money if you want that type of look. Here’s someone else’s pick from another forum so you can see what I mean. |

Agree with the comments above, although I have not worn it often it has had some use. Bracelet holding up well, slightly frayed loops and the clasp is not that comfortable. Lovely watch though and really goes under the radar!

I’ve got many of the lesser expensive straps like Barton and Strapsco, amazingly good stuff!

I contacted them and they said it doesn’t fit the ceramic. Which is a Shame since the site says it fits all black bay 41 mm models. |

For the OP, the main reason they don't make the deployant clasp out of ceramic is the danger of it shattering. A chunk of ceramic that thin and long, and in a vulnerable spot like the bottom of the wrist, is a big risk that it would bang on something and come apart. SS is the way to go. So far I haven't seen any issues with the coating coming off. If it does wear off at all I imagine it would take a while and you could always buy a replacement deployant clasp down the road if needed. I wouldn't let the fear of scratching a clasp keep you from buying this or any other watch. |
