I'm not a big spender but have been fortunate to get the trio I wanted. Last year, one of my dearest friends, who isn't a watch geek like us, told me there was one Rolex that did catch his eye, the OP36 silver dial. I never told him this but I actually wanted to get that exact reference for myself one day; however, he's worked hard, wanted to celebrate a career milestone, and is a one watch kind of guy.

The week after learning this I spoke to my wonderful sales associate, put in the request, and made sure to politely remind him every few months. I know this isn't a Daytona, but I honestly believe my friend would have never secured this watch by just walking into an AD by himself. Fourteen months later (yes, 14 months!), I got THE text we all dream of. Funny, I was more excited and happy for my friend than if the text was for myself. I arranged for the appointment and two days later my dear friend of over 25 years now owns his first Rolex.

I won't lie, there was a small part of me that wished I got it, but his genuine appreciation for my help, and our mutual respect for each other really is priceless. Thank you for reading.

Excellent, congrats to him !
