This is the best suggestion offered. I had both dials of the 116520 back in the day and now have a black 116500. I prefer the aesthetics of the ceramic bezel but the price delta in your trade is too high.

As an 116500 black dial owner I would say no to your trade idea. Keep your Daytona and buy an entirely new watch, the 11K is not worth an upgrade to the exact same model.

I have a white DaytonaC, and as much as I like my watch I would not make that trade. Keep and enjoy your current watch, spend the $11k on something else you want.

Where are you all getting your information? A preowned (worn) black 116520 is worth $22-24k. White 116500 is worth $32-36k, so $11k is right in the wheelhouse, and that leaves little meat on the bone for the dealer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

maybe try selling your current daytona to an authorized dealer who also sells a small stock of pre-owned watches (small such that they would be willing to buy your daytona, but maybe wouldn't have a preowned 116500 lying around), and chat them up during the sale explaining that you've decided to sell yours because you love the new one's look more and can't get past that and if they could put you on a list for a new one, you'd be grateful. There is such a dealer in my community - perhaps they're not that common.
To my eyes, the 116500 is a major aesthetic and scratch resistance upgrade. If you feel similarly, I think you will not be satisfied until you figure out a way to get the upgrade. But I'd definitely take my time and figure out the best way to do it! |

Nope. I’d prefer the steel bezel. But then again I don’t like Daytonas to begin with, so what do I know. 10k for a different color dial and otherwise the same watch? No way. I’d buy one of the white dial Speedmasters or Tudor and keep the one you have.

Never in a million years.
It's 99% the same watch, so is a ceramic bezel worth 10 grand?!? |
