Coming up in November, we need to turn our clocks back 1 hour.

I have a question....I have a new Day Date 128238...Can I just turn the hour back or will that hurt the watch. Or, is it better to move it forward & then change the day & date.

I'm sure that turning the watch one hour back is the next day shouldn't be a problem.

On Rolex movements you can do it when ever you like.

It'll only hurt the watch if you drop it while turning it back.

With any Rolex caliber, date can be changed at any time. This is because Rolex movements (15xx and up) utilize a cam system that preloads a spring that moves the date forward (instant date change). The date change window rule only applies to direct driven date mechanism (gradual date change).

Why?
Larry explained it in an earlier post years ago…

A Rolex movement does not engage the date disk gears as on other movements. It uses a cam and lever for the date change. Nothing is engaged, but when the main wheel reaches midnight a cam rolls into a slot releasing a spring loaded lever that slaps the date over one day.. thus, no gears to break..

Watches with an ETA caliber have a manual that warns against changing near midnight.

You won't find that warning in a Rolex manual.

Now if it was a 40y.o. Rolex, different story.
