Daytona 116500 vs Sky Dweller Rose Gold
hello guys , i'm torn between this two watches, because they are roughly now at the same price.
my wrist can rock any of the watches very good. the Brand new white dial 116500 or the 2013 Great condition Rose Gold Arabic Choco Skyweller on strap. do you guys have any opinion regarding the choices, and also one of my concern is the 'investment value' of the watch. also is the skydweller movement rock solid or a bit problematic at times? because it's a very complicated movement thanks a lot |

I say, buy what you like best, not for investment value
That said, I would go with the 116500 |

They are very different watches and it is not possible for me to make a comparison.
Get the one you like best but you need to know that the Daytona can increase in value more than the Sky-Dweller. |

If I’m going gold, I’d want the fully Monty including the bracelet. One of the best aspects of wearing a Rolex is the bracelet IMHO.

The revision must be done every 10 years at the latest, regardless of the type of movement. |

Not sure I get where you're coming from. I haven't seen anything that indicates there is a problem with Sky-Dweller movements...or that they require anything other than routine servicing. Have you? |

The way things are going, anyone with the notion of watches as investments, especially like the two the OP is asking about, will be sorely disappointed…buy what strikes your fancy and is available…

The sky dweller movement is fully idiot proof unlike some other high end brand watches with the same complication.

Pictures please.
Not always true unfortunately, but the SD isn’t problematic. It would be my choice from these two but will not be such a good investment long term. Is the Daytona from an AD or grey?

Daytona has my vote at all times, but buy what you really like.

I took the dive and bought one. Won’t regret as very comfortable on the wrist and looks great. One of my favourites 👍🏻👍🏻

Ditto. SD on bracelet.
Neither one is a good investment at today's prices. Buy the one you love.

Sky dweller for me. It’ll probably never reach the hype levels of the Daytona though. Resale value is definitely much lower.
But it’s still functionally the most useful and robust mechanical watch that I have. The calibre 9001 movement really is idiot proof. And Rolex reliable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
