best gift I have ever received
So today my wife surprised me with a gift. I changed jobs recently (with promotion) and my wife wanted to get me something nice. So she went to a local AD and was able to get the datejust 41 Azzuro Blue for me! Its been a while since I changed jobs so I had almost forgotten about it but she apparently got the call yesterday and picked it today and got it gift wrapped too. Luckily she knew I don't like fluted bezel (I talk about watches a lot) so she registered her interest for smooth bezel. She has no history at all with the AD, so she was not expecting a call but said she thought she will try. Took around 2 months or so.
Now on the watch. Whilst I had thought about DJ 41, I never really considered this dial. But once I opened the box and looked at it on my wrist in real time, I fell in love and I am so glad she went with this variation. Dial is stunning and gives the otherwise simple watch bit of bling and character. Roman numerals makes it look a bit different and are a pleasure to look at. The dial changes colors from almost mute blue to cool tones to vibrant blue (blue to dark blue to almost black in some lights). I am lovingly calling it 50 shades of blue :D. The proportions are just right (doesn't feel big or small). This is a special watch for me given my wife went through the trouble to get it for me but I am also very happy that end up like it so much. it will be replacing my speedmaster as daily wearer. It is difficult to capture the beauty of the dial in pictures but I have tried (and failed lol). But including them anyways. Last edited by rockysw; 15 November 2022 at 08:20 AM..
