Tell AD? Went Gray
I know I probably shouldn't care - and I think this has been discussed before.. but what do y'all think?
I got tired of waiting and wanted to get an AP, so I went gray and bought a 44MM 26400 Titanium. My SA is pretty cool, but idk if that would improve or not my chances of getting a watch directly from AD. I put myself on the list 6 months ago and haven't gotten the "call" |

people here have stated that telling AP you went grey helps your case because it shows your commitment to the brand. i don't have any experience of my own to share but multiple people have said that here recently

My SA told me that with the caveat that at the time their whole catalogue was selling above retail. With all Codes and ROOs now being available significantly below retail I wonder if it will still count as plus.

Well in this case, because the 44mm ROOs are no longer being offered, it should be fine to tell them since there’s no “conflict of interest”…unless your point to them is that you’re no longer wanting whatever you asked for them to get you. But I don’t think that is the case. So you can use this as a demonstration of your commitment to own and wear APs. That’s just my 2cents.

I don't think it'll hurt your chances at all. If anything, it should show you have a passion for the brand. It being a discontinued 44 ROO makes it even better.

I told my SA I went grey before and they just apologized that they couldn't accommodate me and I had to do that. Got another RO from them eventually.

There are def some brands that do not like it at all if you buy grey...but most see it as dedication to their product and a desire to buy more than one piece, etc.

Plus. Usually shows you are a fan of the brand. Shows if they call you you will buy.
