Yep, whenever I get new watch, I was like meh and move on my life. Until I got my first Panerai, I got that kind of rush you've described. I was grinning for weeks!

Welcome!

I have bought and sold so many Rolex watches over the years, and I have never been happier than when I joined the Panerai crowd. I think you made a solid decision, it's your wrist and you need to be happy. It is nice to shed the Rolex hype and wear a brand that people don't stereotype you for wearing. It shows that you are a true watch enthusiast not just following the crowd. Best of luck and enjoy you new Pam, the 005 is next on my list.

Stand tall Justin, those Rolex guys are just upset that another owner has seen the light and come over to the Panerai side. Some day they to will come to realize just what it is about these watches and when they do we will there to welcome them. With a healthy dose ribbing to be sure!

Happy for you Justin and welcome to the wonderful world of Panerai and a lot of straps!!

Don't worry there's always room to love both Panerai and Rolex.........the only bad news is that once you strap a Panerai on your wrist is very hard to look back!!

This is awesome, you sound just like me. I just sold my perfect LV because I feel bad having that much money collecting dust in my closet after buying a Pam. I only have a GMT II left now and will keep it just to have on Rolex but it will see very little wrist time.

Justin, I know you are a creative guy... One strap guy I think you will appreciate is Delaurian. I don't have any of his straps but, I have heard that he is amazing. When you get some time take a look at his site. Check out his galleries.

Best, and welcome. Can't wait to see the pics.

Regarding Delauran straps, are they totally custom made, so I just list specs what I want and he makes them? I admit I am bit confused with Delauran's website.

Off topic I know, but I've got to ask: Assuming your sig is up to date, why would you state the GMT-IIC is your favorite watch, yet you don't own it even though you have other Rolex models?

VazLube - I think Delaurian will let you pretty much describe what you want or close to it... Not sure about fully custom although - I have heard others say that he did just that for them. I do believe you can pick any model from his gallery and have him customize it. I have heard of some folks sending him art - of their tatoos for example and he creats similar art or a variation of - or what someone would want on a Tat - or wish they had etc... and he will/can replicate it.

The site is a bit crazy - Myself and others on this forum couldn't get a reply back to our inquiry - I think he stays pretty busy.

Does anyone on here have a Delaurian and can provide more info? I recommended the site because I thought Justin would enjoy it... Who knows... Maybe Justin could branch off with his creativity and bust out some straps for us TRF Pam guys!

He does make some extremely nice leather strap creations, however we will all be better served if he could make more.Nevermind getting a strap from him, only getting a response on your mail seems to be an art in itself. Pity,I sent him an e mail in 2008,for a special strap that was to celebrate some things that happened in 2007,that were dear to me.Sent a scetch of what I wanted, inscriptions, full details, but alas, never even got a reply back ......................

Now that I think about it,hmmmmmm, perhaps one of our other esteemed strap artists may be interested. Will find out !! Plan B !!!

GBJIV, thanks for description of delaurian. Sounds like an impressive strap-maker from looks of it. Yes, his site is crazy, and it put me off somewhat. I guess that more customizable the strap is, the more time and work is involved. I am not ready for this level of strap customization yet!
