My “new” Ref. 1625
Good afternoon, fellow aficionados. I’m proud to share an image of my most recent acquisition; a 1960’s Ref. 1625. I’m very interested in the group’s opinion of its authenticity. I’m also wondering if anyone can direct me to a location which offers an accurate serial number/date-of-manufacture reference. I’ve seen several, online, but there’s noticeable disagreement between many of them. Is there a single point of truth, somewhere, where I can determine the year of my watch’s build?
I hope everyone’s well. It’s been a while since having logged on, here. Best wishes for the holiday season. (If we’re talking about Rolexes, it can’t be all that bad, right?) My best, Joe |

Looks good to me! The chart on this site is as good as any: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=54362
If it's from the 60s, your watch is old enough to have a date inside the case-back.

Gorgeous piece, Joe! I'm a real sucker for those engine turned bezels.
In fact, if it's rotatable, it might be a Turn-O-Graph without it being labeled on the dial. EDIT - Doh! Ref 1625 is a Turn-O-Graph. It's odd that isn't on the dial. EDIT 2- A quick Google search shows lots of 1625 Turn-O-Graph examples without it being on the dial. Very nice watch!

OP What is the serial number (use xx for last 2 digits) and together I’m sure someone can give you a reasonable idea of year.

Gentlemen, I sincerely appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm and support for my recent purchase. It feels good, frankly. To further the discussion regarding its age, the serial number is: 1,929,5xx.
I’m grateful for any thoughts on its date of manufacture. In my mind, the older the better. Thank you, all, for the warm reception and kind remarks. Joe |

So, as a follow up, I also have another ref. 1625, with s/n 1,611,7xx. It appears that both that one, and the I’ve shown you all, above (1,929,5xx), were manufactured in 1967. Pretty neat coincidence.
I sincerely appreciate everyone’s enthusiastic response to my newest acquisition. Thank you, gentlemen. Joe |

The two watch are most likely 1967 and 1968, but it's impossible to be exact. Next time they are opened, get photos of the inside of the case-back, which will provide additional information.

Lovely watch. Bough mine (https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=860600) on a whim not knowing if I would keep it long term. It is now a part of my collection with no foreseeable departure. The sporty bezel really changes the character of the DateJust. Wear it in good health.
