The respondent didn't place any particular value on their time. Only a rather sweeping generalisation was offered, just as it often is. It's a part of the human condition and none of us are immune. |

DSSD vs SD43 Fitment + Comfort Thoughts
Love my SD43. I Never found it uncomfortable, but since throwing it on a Rubber b strap it has become a daily for me. It’s like it’s not even there.

Which one of those, old vs new DSSD do you think is more comfortable? I tried the newer DSSD and the wider bracelet felt constricted to me. OP, I have both the old DSSD and the SD43. I find both to be comfortable. The DSSD is one of my most comfortable watches for sure, but I wouldn’t call the SD43 uncomfortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The only way,is to try the watch on your own wrist. You could miss getting a good watch,if you listen to much, to others opinions. |

Let me tell you a story about a friend of mine who wanted a IWC big pilot. He read so many complaints about the crown digging into the back of peoples wrists,so he decided not to buy it.How ever ten years later he actually tried one on,and it fitted him like a glove, and the big crown did not bother him. Its like judging a car, without driving it. |

Hi firstly congratulations you have a great collection my friend.
I don’t own a DSSD so can’t comment on that but I do own the SD43 and 116610ln. As much as I love the SD43 I find the sub more comfortable especially after wearing the SD43 for a few days and then reverting back to the Sub. Having said all that my 116710ln is my most comfortable of all. |

SD43 versus 126660 JC versus blue BB58
The JC is the most magical, but the least every day for my 19cm wrist. The SD43 has the most beautiful wrist profile (where bracelet meets lugs) and has been a daily wearer. But I see the point about the 20mm versus 28mm case back protrusion. Thank you for that. Fascinating. The blue BB58 is the most comfortable, and is very good looking. But the novelty has worn off for me. My ambition is to feel as everyday comfortable with the JC. That, of the three, is the most exciting. In jest, a friend commented that the SD43 is a watch for a seriously big man. The JC is for the serous big man’s Dad, who’s a bit more relaxed, friendly and light-hearted these days (but still capable). The JC is very special. That would be my pick. And I think you get used to what you wear. I never found the SD43 irritating or painful.
Great posts on this thread. Thank you. |

I have DSSD JC, it sits really well and comfortable on my small 6.6" wrist, I love it.

Every wrist is different so comfort is relative. I can wear my SD43 all day without it ever feeling uncomfortable. But....I suspect if Rolex ever discontinues the watch or drops the red text from the SD43 it will miraculously become much more comfortable on a lot of wrists!

I recently weighed my 126660 JC and my 228206 (DD40 platinum). Even though the DD40 is much smaller than the DSSD, the DD40 is even less forgiving when it comes to comfort/fit (and micro-adjustments aren't possible with the DD40). I find that the DD40 needs to be on the loose side in order to be comfortable, so I wonder if your 116660 would've been a little more comfortable if it were a little looser. |

Can someone help finding the bezel size different between DSSD44 and SD43? Friend of mine told me DSSD44 has 43mm bezel OD.

I recently got a 136660 and it is so far my favorite in my collection. I have the same size wrist as Charles and have been rotating my 2 PAMs in 44mm as my daily. The DSSD has such a nice wrist presence and it puts a smile on my face every time when I look at the dial. I love my DSSD and it feels more comfortable to wear over my Sub, GMT and the Explorer; may be because I like the weight and the size of the case.
Never owned a SD43 but didn't like the cyclop on the 126600 when I tried it on at the AD a couple of months ago. So glad I picked up the DSSD and will never part with it!

Well although the thread is an old one, it was resurrected recently so I thought I chime in (again).
I've been full circle with the SD43 ... bought it, wore it 3 plus years, sold it, and bought it back (the exact same watch from a member here). I always loved this reference since the Seadweller is where my Rolex journey began back in 1992. When the 126600 was announced it coincided with my 50th birth year, so it was a must have for me. I can happily report that in my case it does wear more comfortably when worn a bit looser for some strange reason. It sounds counter intuitive but for me it works. Thanks to all those who suggested I try it @crazycarlitos and others. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

I have an average 6.75 Inch wrist. I had a 126600 SD43 for 9 months which i sold ( delivered by AD to me after 1 year wait in Dubai) as it was uncomfortable for long duration wear. I am an actual Offshore Mariner ( Ship Captain) so going 8 hours was inspite of removing the diver extention was hard.
Sold it and got the new Sub LV ( grey ) ofcourse. No chance to get it fm AD in Dubai.

MY personal favourite and most comfortable Rolex..... As some have mentioned, the case back vanishes into the wrist when wearing snug above the wrist bone. Perfect trade off between the sub and the deep seas. Love it

I had the SD 43 , sold it
loved the looks of it, but way too big and heavy to be a daily wearer for me

There's a lot to be said for wearing them a little on the lose side and that's how I've rolled with any watch on a bracelet for nearly 50 years without fail. Enjoy |

Without doubt the Rotating bezel on the 136660 is different because it's nowhere near as thick. |

I've always worn most watches a bit on the loose side as well. I guess with this one I figured it should be a bit more snug due to the weight. I was wrong. Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

DSSD is too big, thick and heavy. SD43 has to be worn snug above wrist bone with diver extension removed, no diver extension on new SD43 002 by the way. SD43 is a normal wearable, and comfortable watch for 6.5+ wrists no problem.

So many posters on this thread stating personal preference as general fact.
Post 55 nailed it. Not very politely, but nailed it. I wore an SD43 as a daily for 4+ years. I have a flat, 6.75 inch wrist, with a dip between my wrist bones that the SD43's case back fitted into perfectly. I wore it on the snug side (as I do all my watches) and had zero issues with weight, comfort, size or anything else for that matter. I wore it practically 24/7 on a long trip to Dubai and Bali for my 50th just 2 months after purchase and found it extremely comfortable in extremes of heat and humidity. The only issue I had with that watch was the 32xx movement falling amplitude and running excessively slow. In terms of comfort it was perfect - for me. There really is no substitute for actually trying a properly fitted watch on. Had I relied on this forum for comfort and wearbility advice, I would have missed out on one of my all time favourite watches. I'm currently wearing my 16600. It has a similar shaped caseback. It is also extremely comfortable (read - forget its even there) Its also fitted on the snug side - probably moreso than the majority of members on here would advise. But it works for me. Its my watch on my wrist and, frankly, other than asking for help/ideas on what may improve comfort when they already have a particular reference that they are struggling with, asking for general opinion on wearability is a complete waste of time and anyone else's opinion on what is comfortable and what is not for them is completely irrelevant.
