Its a little late, but the holiday season has been full swing here. Watches, wine, pizza and whisky. Great company. Some didn't make the group pic as they had to leave early, or came very late. Weather has been bad -- we don't get white Christmas, we get sopping wet monsoons this time of the year.

Still, nothing like a little GTG and some drink to keep us all warm.

And I have to say... when I saw the video of the Bel Canto, I had my concerns about the quality issues. But having seen the final production watch, the finishing is somewhat up to expectation. It is quite a nice watch. As for the lacquered Dumont... collected from AD and brought straight to dinner

The AP came first in 1978; it is reference 25668BA in YG. The VC made its debut later on in 1982 (iirc), reference 43032 in PT. The movements in both watches were from JLC 920 (thinnest automatic movement in the world back in 1967), with reworked perpetual calendar module by Dubois-Depraz... and hence why they also look somewhat similar.

On the wrist, they do seem to wear quite differently; the AP more vintage whilst the VC more modern. Also note the different use of materials for the moonphase disc on the two watches.

There were 205 examples of the AP 25668BA -- 94 in YG, 79 in PT, 30 in PG and just 2 in WG.

I did a bit of research and saw in a Christie's lot essay that only 150 platinum 43032 were produced (estimate). That's not many indeed.
