Sky-Dweller: No Chance?
Hi All,
I was fortunate to try on a steel Sky Dweller today at an AD in the NYC suburbs. I found the watch absolutely stunning. However, the (otherwise very friendly) SA indicated that the watch is effectively impossible to get and that she had never even been allocated one for one of her clients. Has anyone ever been allocated one of these at an AD without a large spend history? Wondering if what she said is true or if it’s worth trying another AD. Thanks! NYC2023 |

Albeit July 2020, I had inquired to a new AD for a Sub but got an email offering a White face and Black face Sky Dweller, went and tried on as thought a face to face meeting won’t hurt but wasn’t really what I was looking for as really wanted a Sub of any variety, next thing they brought out a 116613LB (bluesy) which I snapped up.

I'm glad you tried it on (obviously an exhibition model). This, the SD, and the Exp II should be tried on before bought IMHO, because they are pretty big references.
Has she been a SA long? I get they are hard to get, but to have never seen even one sounds a stretch. It's probably just more comfortable for her to say "no one gets them" as opposed to "you don't get one". I agree that it's a realllllyyyy cool watch! Hopefully things change enough where you can pic one up at retail in the future, I'd be excited for that incoming thread. |

I don't think they're impossible if you're after the black/white dials respectively. Jubilees tend to be a bit harder to find than Oysters, and TT the easiest.
In the past couple years, I've been offered a Black (purchased), TT (turned down), and saw a OysterFlex available for anyone to purchase at different times/stores. Unless you're after a blue jub/oyster (this maybe difficult) I'd express your interest with a few ADs and wait it out. |

view. Interestingly enough, the SD feels too thick for me but the Sky-Dweller seems perfect. |

Saw a RG version in an AD's case available for sale yesterday. It was real sharp looking!

They are not impossible, just few and far between. TTs tend to crop up on a right place, right time basis. SS are more difficult. Finding the right AD/SA is key. It sounds like you haven't yet hit upon the one who will do it for you.

Just buy one secondary - they’re essentially MSRP + tax now besides blue

Blue is difficult. Wasn’t super interested in the oyster version, but expressed interested in the jubilee as soon as it came out and took about a year for AD to come through
White and black should be easier. OF and TT I’ve seen in cases on multiple occasions, and I think they even sell under MSRP on secondary Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Impossible as a walk in customer without prior history is the reality.
Nothing wrong with buying it from one of the boutique sellers in the for sale section on TRF. These sellers are top notch. You pay a bit more but have it the next day and no need to play the AD games

You’ll get the same response at any AD, unfortunately.
