I would keep the speedy. Its price is increasing, so you are likely to pay a lot more buying it back in future.

Its an icon.

Would you let the Speedy go to get the DJ41? Eventually, I would likely pick up another Speedmaster as they are easy to get, I just feel like I might regret not getting to OP41 when I have the chance.

My current collection:

Submariner (114060)
Datejust 41 (grey stick dial, smooth bezel on jubilee bracelet)
Speedmaster Professional (hesalite, on black leather strap)

I appreciate your input.

Would say go for it as replacing the Speedy is easy as you pointed out

Yup - OP all the way. As you mentioned, you can always pick up a Speedy. Something you can't do with an OP.

Good luck!

Yes. As others have said, you can buy a speedy anytime.

I traded my Speedy for sub. Love the sub but missed the speedy so just picked up the new bracelet speedy. Trade it for an OP41? No way. I imagine OPs and Datejust will become a lot more available as the year goes on.

I would only do this trade, if you will enjoy the OP better than a speedy

I find the OP’s boring and bland turds . I would never trade a Speedmaster for any OP .

IMO, collection is much better now than it would be after that trade.

I wouldn’t.

You have a sweet collection now. Cost aside, replacing speedy with an OP is a collection downgrade imo. The OP is inferior to all of your watches imo.

I have both but my op is silver. I like my speedmaster but love my op. Very different watches, op is more my style.

Get the op since it’s hard to get at retail and get the speedy in the future. This is so long as you are not taking a total bath on the speedmaster. If you’re taking too much of a hit then it’s not worth selling it. It would be ideal to add the op without selling.

I'd do it. Speedmasters are always plentiful and available at a discount.

Let the Speedy go and grab the OP.
The Omega will be easily available in the future :)

I would not. For a different model Rolex I would consider it.

No I would not sell. Save up and buy the next watch when you can afford it, or take out some consumer credit

Thanks for all of the great input. I'm still just about as torn as everyone's opinions on here. I'm going to pick up the OP this week and see how I feel when all of my watches are in front of me.

If I'm being honest, I wear my Submariner 90% of the time, and the DJ41 and Speedmaster are only worn a couple of days per month. I feel like I enjoy owning both more than I enjoy actually wearing them, if that makes sense.

We will see what happens with the OP41.. Maybe I'll keep the Sub and sell everything else for one higher end piece. Never been a 2 tone guy but the Rootbeer might be cool. Yeah, I am all over the place here! This hobby is ridiculous sometimes but I have to admit, I do enjoy the hunt.
