First Grand Seiko

Picked up a SBGN 029 as an early birthday present to myself. Pics really don’t do it justice, the finish and attention to detail is amazing. I’m really enjoying this watch!

Congrats, I’m sure many more GS to come. Dials and finish are amazing at that price point.

Nice, my one and only GS is also a quartz, which I love. Five seconds a year accuracy and never needs winding, true grab and go. I'm sure you'll catch the bug!

I’m a big fan of GS watches and I love this one. I also plan on adding a GS to my collection.

Beautiful dial. If I was ever going to go quartz this would be at the top of my list.

It's definitely quartz at a completely different level! The "tick" of the seconds hand is much smoother than on a regular quartz. I think it might be because the seconds hand actually ticks two times per second.

How is the bracelet and the thickness of this watch? Those have been my concerns in the past with GS.

I didn't have any issues sizing the bracelet. I was able to get a comfortable fit removing 2 full and 2 half links. However, there is no micro adjust on the clasp, so some may have a little harder time dialing in a good fit. I found a sizing guide online which really helped me.

Edited to add: The links use very tiny screws on each side and pins, kind of like a Speedy bracelet. Definitely takes some patience to adjust the bracelet. As for comfort, I'm happy with it.

The case is around 12mm thick, so it does sit very nicely on the wrist.

It's ok. The cardinal points on the dial as well as the hands have some lume. Definitely not as much as the previous model.
