Price check..........

I was offered TT Submariner X series (early 90s?)for $4,200, condition 7 out of 10.

Woud you consider it a good deal?

Does it come with box and papers? What does a 7 out of 10 mean? Lots of scratches, nicks, bracelet stretched?

Well, I wouldn't rush to blow it off because it doesn't have papers. If you know it's genuine, then papers don't mean much. You'll get a new certificate when you send it to RSC for service, which I assume it's going to need anyway. But I would shoot for a bit less for that particular model.

I would have said that if it had box, papers and in really great condition, then it would have been a good deal!

Thanks for your feedback, Allan. How about SS Sub w/date Z series for $3,700?

RSC = Rolex Service Center

They send you a certificate that has the serial number on it and a 1 year warranty. So basically it's not exactly the same as original papers, but the service certificate is good enough. Just make sure it is authentic before buying. Papers don't guarantee authenticity.

You can see what you get here with service.

Check on all three - very nice condition, with papers and boxed.

If in almost mint condition, then I think it is a good price. Others may disagree. I would always though try to get them down lower.

x2! Make sure that you get references on the seller and have the watch authenticated by a local Rolex Dealer before buying.
