Go to the Rolex.com site- you'll see the differences immediately. There is a LOT wrong with this one.

Putting aside the typical and notorious "my grandparents left me this watch" ruse, in the instances where it is indeed true, I wonder how latter generations actually feel when their grandparents leave behind a fake watch...
For me, I would be embarassed (guess i'll be dead so it won't matter) to leave behind a fake watch to my kids / grandkids. They will definitely think less of me, if I haven't hit rock bottom with them already |

If I discovered it then the first thought to be considered is “how did he/she come to own this”? The dubious item (whether a watch or a handbag or other heirloom) may have been a gift from another family member. I suppose I would reflect upon their naïveté and considerate nature to not throw it away. On the other hand, had they been flaunting it openly as a “great deal” they got, I might have pity. A few years back I was burglarized and had to go to the police department to recover a ladies Rolex we had helped recover. I brought my paperwork and springbar tool to remove the bracelet so I could show where the serial number was (this was an older Rolex). After identification was verified, the Lieutenant asked if I could do the same with other ladies “Rolex” watches that had been recovered during the burglars’ spree throughout the County. Every one of them were fakes - so bad that they didn’t even have bogus s/n’s engraved. As I left the building it dawned on me that several husbands/boyfriends were going to be in hot water… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
