RICHARD formerly of JON VINCENT, HAMILTON.
Hi guys, a bit of a long shot, aimed primarly at the scottish members, but certainly not exclusively.
I inherited my dads rolex 5513 sub, nice watch, he told me that if ever the watch was needing works done, [ Im thinking it needs a service] I should go to Jon Vincents showroom in Hamilton and ask for Richard, alas Jon Vincent does not trade now. Im trying to do the old fellas bidding, and I know it is a long shot, but does anyone know if Richard is still in the trade, and if so where he works. My dad was a man from his generation, and if rumours are correct and there is life ever after, and I get to meet him again, he wont shake me warmly by the hand, he will berate me for not finding the elusive Richard, so Im trying. Any help greatly appreciatted. Jim |

Hi there is a Scottish watch group on Facebook - someone there might be able to help. Local to me in Glasgow is Martin's - who would be happy to help. https://jewellery-shops.co.uk/080571...27s_of_Glasgow

Unfortunately my local watchmaker, “Jon Vincent” folded during the pandemic.
The premises is now a coffee and chocolate shop, at the bottom of my street. Mr Vincent Light was a good friend and I knew Richard pretty well, he was workshop manager before they closed. Unfortunately I don’t have any contact details for him. If you can post photos we may be able to give you advice on where to send it. Which may be Rolex UK, they are actually extremely good at vintage, as long as you give clear instructions. I can think of 3 of 4 others in the UK who I would trust with a 5513. Photos and a description might help. |
