First purchase on chrono from private seller
Hi all,
Just wanted some advice on buying from a private seller on Chrono as it's the first time I'd be purchasing on here. Is it safe? Also, do chrono offer like an authenticity programme? I don't want to be stung, once recieving the timepiece I presume it should be checked by a watch maker and any issues report to chrono 24 asap? Sent from my SM-F936B using Tapatalk |

Use the Chrono24 escrow service. Abandon the seller if they try to direct you to text, whatsapp or a different form of payment.
Lastly, if it’s too good to be true, it is. In most cases, common sense will alert you to potential problems.

If you go ahead with the purchase, you need to be able to check the authenticity. Can you do it or do you know a watchmaker that could do this for you? If the answer is yes and everything checks, then you give the OK to C24 who will unblock the money from the escrow account and send it to the seller. If not good, you need to tell the seller and C24 with some evidence like pictures showing it's a fake, return the watch and wait for C24 to return the money. The problem starts when the seller disagrees. Also, if the watch develops a fault shortly after, you're on your own. I bought two watches on C24 from private sellers with no issues, but I also avoided a few dodgy ones by asking questions and high-res photographs of the watches. You normally get better prices from private sellers, but it comes at a risk.
