Icon15 Scammer on TRF - Xerxes77 - Be Aware - Do not engage

Unfortunately, it looks like I got screwed out of a lot of money for a Rolex 1166113lb from user - Xerxes77.

I initiated a wire transfer (probably should have walked away) on Tuesday and was told the watch would be delivered today. I received what looks like a bogus USPS Next Day Delivery slip and that the label was created but there is no update with USPS.

BE AWARE and Do Not Engage with this scammer.

A stranger commanded you to send him money with no guarantee of ever receiving anything in return and you happily complied. I don't see what the problem is.

Can you give us more information on the process, communication, and what happened?

Well, fortunately there are resources to assist folks like me and others that attempt to enter into good faith negotiations with private sellers. Hopefully no one else experiences this.

Hi BillA,

I posted on the WTB forum and engaged with Xerxes77 after reviewing that he has been engaged on TRF and had a reference. We exchanged emails and agreed on a price. He sent me his bank wire information and his home address. I wired the money and waited two days to receive a USPS next day delivery slip which looked totally bogus. I inputted into USPS and all they say is the label was created but no additional information for the last 36 hours. I have emailed and messaged this user multiple times over the last day and no response. I even pinged the reference and he never responded. I messaged TRF about this situation.

The sad thing about this is Xerxes77 was online earlier and I messaged him via TRF to make it right and no response.

Pretty unnecessary public shaming

I don’t see any listings by that member.
Hard to understand the warning.

Best thing to do is report it to the Mods - that member is still active.

Interesting, and sorry to hear OP. Xerxes has been a member since 2017 and an active poster.

Hope you find a resolution…

OP
I also sent him a PM asking him to come onto this thread and explain things.
We shall see if he does so.

Yeah Xerxes77 has been posting on TRF for years. Granted I don’t see where he has ever posted a watch for sale.

Maybe someone pretending to be him. Idk. But I do hope it all gets sorted

Yeah I just checked on his history and went all the way back to last year, no for sale ads.

Where was he posting the watch for sale?

This sounds like Xerxes77 account was hacked

He responded to a WTB ad by op. Mostly a hacked account.

PayPal goods and services purchase invoice is a much better buying option IMO over any bank wire transfer and better than PayPal friends and family transfer.

Pay the small fees and protect yourself much better against never receiving the watch or receiving a fake.
