What a weekend

Hi all,

I have been a user on here for some time but never posting, always just browsing threads from a general interest in watches. I don’t post on any form of social media or forum but this weekend was a special one of additions for the family and it seems appropriate to share it with likeminded people.

I received my email early Saturday morning that the Rolex I had requested was available to collect. The colour is sentimental and I wanted something green in relation to mine and my son’s birthdays. We turn 30 and 1 early next month and he is our first born. I’d like to think the watch will be his one day when he is old enough.

I mentioned this to my SA in June in the hope of receiving it in time for the birthdays but it was going to be my first Rolex purchase and I’m aware of the potential wait times so didn’t hold out any high hopes.

The excellent news came early on in the morning and I collected in the afternoon. The dial is an absolute stunner and I am completely thrilled with it.

After getting home my mother and father had also received an email in the afternoon that a piece was available for them to collect from AP. They had been waiting a little longer but were hoping to have it for their 35th wedding anniversary next month.

My father was extremely fortunate to be allocated a Royal Oak Chronograph in 2021 as a first purchase and obviously loves it. He wanted my mother to have something similar to match that was special for both of them. They went to London today to collect from the boutique and had a celebratory meal.

All feeling very blessed and fortunate to be in such a position where special occasions are able to be marked with something that will always remind you of the time in years to come.

I’ve attached a few photos (hopefully) of the new arrivals, and my own collection. The Breitling was an 18th gift from my parents and the Santos was purchased in 2021 to mark the marriage to my wife who has given me the best gift since then in our son. Hopefully we will be in a similar position in 33 years to come as my parents.
