Was on holidays in Europe and didn’t even bother stopping by at Rolex stores as I’ve stopped by at many over the years and the story is always to go back to your own neighbourhood Rolex store. So my mind was not on Rolex at all, I even left all my Rolex at home and wore my Hublot Big Bang e watch to be low-profile.

Then my wife finally pushed me into one of the Rolex stores in one of the cities and of course the reply was “no stock”.

However after striking up a conversation about my Hublot and talking about our collections, the SA suddenly asked if we had the Explorer. We said that it was so hard to get any model now, even entry models. She said have a look at it and if you like it you can take it!

Everyone who is going to an AD is lied to. We all know it and we all accept it when we get the chance to buy some high demand piece at retail. Don’t make it personal.

Yeah, we all know it’s ultimately up to them who they sell watches to. I guess they need to be comfortable you’re not going to flip it immediately. Still not an exact science, but I guess it’s their call in the end.

Haha, yes maybe I cracked the code: hit a Rolex store with a Hublot on your wrist to increase your chances…
