But for me, what you see is what you get. I tell you the truth because I owe you my integrity. I want to be known as I am. And the truth is that I detest fake watches! They lower the standard of the Rolex image by their inferior quality. It makes it unfair for the whole Rolex community. But I have them for my own personal collection. I also have genuines. I love watches like art appreciation. What I have or what I own is my personal business. But I will always tell the truth.
You say you detest fakes, but at the same time you put a big photo of one of your fakes and brag about it.

If you have one and keep it to yourself, it's your own business and no skin off my nose. If you come into this forum with that crap, is IS my business, and I'll thank you to keep it away from here.

And that's the truth.

I saw a imitation Fifty Fathoms today, most call it a Submariner.

All discussing fakes on these forums is good for is helping crooks make better ones. And then the people that support these crooks waste their money on their fake crap.

I understand your being mad at this whole fake thing. As a watch enthusiast myself, and being in a watch forum, I was just getting out of the closet (as they say it) and expressing myself openly and honestly to other watch enthusiasts. But again, being in a purists' Rolex forum must be an unacceptable way for that kind of free speech.

Your responsibility as a moderator requires such action so as to guard such topics out of this forum. And I respect that. I know that Rolex and the Rolex brand alone is worth earning and deserving to only those who have reached its status level, and to infringe on it, makes it look cheap which is such an insult to the brand and to the community who have dearly paid the high price. I deeply apologize to you and the others whom I have dearly offended.

Gill

Gill,

It might have been better to post this thread in the non-Rolex catagory as technically that is what it is. Kinda like smoking a cigarette at a gas station by posting it in here.

I still think its a valid discussion subject, the industry cannot ignore it. Although posting on any forum would get attention that may somewhat glamourise these counterfeit items which is something I do not condone.

Mods, can this thread be moved to the non-Rolex forum?

Thank you, Gill.

I'd just like to clarify that it's not a matter of this being a purist's forum. As moderators, we don't cater to any single person's interests - rather, we go with the common denominator that applies to the largest portion of our membership, a case of the good of the collective overruling the good of the individual, as it were.

As such, given the explicit understanding of the forum's raison d'etre, namely being the appreciation of genuine Rolex watches, copies, imitations, hommages and fakes are not accepted as staple for discussion here. As moderator, it is my role to preserve this understanding that is most commonly held.

Justin, it's a good idea that you've proposed. I'll move the thread.
