Wimbledon Dial Variaton

Hi,i just bought a brand new 126333 wimbledon dial SS/YG
And compare it to my friend’s wimbledon 1166333 from year 2013 (oyster ss/yg)
The colour on my dial looks to be noticeably darker than my friend’s
Is it normal?

Dials are still made in 3 different factories now all owned by Rolex, so there always will be and always have ben tiny variations to fonts and colours of dials over the production years.

I’ve always contemplated getting one of these pieces. I’m pulling the trigger and ordering one at my AD! Wasn’t sure if should go SS or TT. Two tone looks appropriate on a Datejust to my eyes.

Not sure what you are asking. If you bought your watch from an AD, everything is fine. What help do you need?

Current Wimbledon is described as "slate" as was mine here back in 2017...

I'll stand corrected but iirc Rhodium was a simple stick dial colour.

thank you for the pics,
correct me if im wrong but i think the colour on the 116333 (datejust2 wimbledon) is indeed different with the 126333(datejust41 wimbledon ) model
,the sunburst is stronger on 126333 ,but the colour is lighter on the previous model

I Googled this a while back. A lot of people say it is.

I have a 126300 Wimbledon. Knowing how much the dial changes color in light, it would, to me, seem very difficult to compare color unless they are side by side.

That one single-lume plot at 9. Makes an otherwise beautiful watch just plain stupid design. I know there are different creative aspects, but that design element is just a mean prank the Rolex designers play on folks.

Things don't have to be perfectly balanced, but that is just so useless.
