Along the canal Part I

Part I of a series of shots (mostly snapshots) taken on a canal boat trip a couple of weeks ago. The trip was on the Grand Union canal in Northamptonshire. We departed out of Gayton Marina and made it up to Warwick, then took the same route back as we only had 7 days.

This is the only non-snapshot. I shot this one off the bow of the boat, on a tripod as we were moored at Lemington Spa just after sunset. Really should try to clone out the sign on the left..........

Everything else I'll post in this series was shot off the boat, mostly while moving, and sometimes while I was driving I got a descent series of snaps while Tam drove for awhile on the last day.

So in no particular order.........

Part II, Working the Locks tomorrow,
Bruce

Thanks JJ! I really like that pic of the anglers. It's the only one of anglers along the way that came out worth a crap

Thanks Peter! Honestly, we didn't have a lot of fun. Josh was being super clingy so Tam didn't get to participate much. The worst part was we were in a 3 boat caravan of family and were being pushed to make time on someone else's schedule. If we ever do it again, we'll stop at every pub along the way and enjoy ourselves. Not sure we'll do it again though. Way too many locks to work, not enough boating, and honestly the sceneray up there just doesn't compare to the southwest!
Cheers,
Bruce

I started this series in the middle and didn't get to this set till I saw the last two. What a great set of shots, Bruce. Love this first set the most. I'm going to have to look into doing that.

Are all the canal boats self piloted? Or can you hire a captain to do the real work?
