Satisfying Work Pen

I work in an office, wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for a fun work pen. I make many marks during a shift - a fountain pen doesn’t make sense, too messy and impractical. I do sign a lot of documents. I’m currently using a Pilot G2 as my pen of choice - is there anything I can use to improve the satisfaction of writing? Also, love blue ink because it helps distinguish an original from a copy.

Try a Montblanc ballpoint or rollerball. They do get noticed.

A small but meaningful upgrade is the Parker Jotter. Classic ballpoint, I always have one handy though I mainly use fountain pens. A bit further up in price point would be a Caran d’arche 849.

I just got a Parker Sonnet rollerball pen that I really like. A rollerball is a compromise between a fountain pen and a ballpoint, very smooth writing.

On second thought, maybe if I had a more valuable pen I wouldn’t be so careless with them

Try tactile turn or smooth precision pens. Both make great fidget friendly bolt action pens that take a pilot G2 refill for around $100. I have both and slightly prefer the smooth precision, but both are great.

Pilot G2 is where it’s at. My secretary decided to switch everyone to zebras and we are switching back to G2’s.

Been a fan of bolt action pens for many years, recently picked up the Camo smooth precision pen. Very nice. Only beef is that I wish the clip had a bit more flex, does seem like it’ll be too forgiving to the edge of my pocket.

A lesson I learned with sunglasses as a teenager.

I am now using a Pineider rollerball. It accepts a Schmidt 5888 refill which has proven itself to be the best and most consistent refill I have used over 30 years.

As I used to sign tons of documents, I was always having my pen cap either flying off the post or rolling off my desk. Broke so many. This Pineider has a magnetic click in the cap that secures it when posted. I have never had it accidentally fling off.

I agree with Richard. My first nice pen was a Montblanc Starwalker midnight ballpoint. I love that pen. I've seen a few of them out in the wild too. Had some nice conversations because of that pen. The "precious" resin thing throws me off a bit but it's a great pen.
