Gentlemen,
I just joined this forum. Not sure if I am doing it right. Long time owner and enthusiest of Rolex. Currently Own Tudor Daytona Tiger. Past owner of several Submariners, Presidents, Date Justs, Dates etc. First Rolex bought in 1975 upon graduation from college at a pawn shop. I am in need of an independent Rolex service/Repair in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Also, where can I purchase a genuine Rolex Movement. Regards, Adavis3rd Arlington, Texas |

adavis3rd wanting to create a frankenwatch are you? LoL As you know the Tudor is a very respected watch at lease in my humble eyes. eBay is where I have seen some Rolex movements in the past (at least the description said they were Rolex) but, you have to be careful!
Best of luck in your search and our Texas members should be chiming in shortly I'm sure :o) Take care and have a great day. Earl |

Welcome to TRF. Glad you found our merry madhouse. I can't answer your questions, except I think there is an independent RSC in Dallas. But some of the locals ought to be popping along soon and they should be able to help you out.
In the meantime, stick around and join the fun here.

New member wtb: cal 3135
Gentlemen, here is the deal,
like an idiot, i purchased a rolex datejust case and band on ebay. thinking, due to my current financial distress, I could sell my Tudor Tiger Chrono and build a datejust and have a little money left over for some bills. Yes, I know now this is a stupid thing to have done, but my only recourse is to try and complete the watch with all genuine and model/year specific parts. so, i need a cal.3135 movement for an early to mid '90's datejust case. The seller swears the case /band are genuine. once it arrives i will have it checked to see if i made an even bigger blunder. Financial distress can make a sane person make un-reasonable decisions. It gets worse: the case back is numbered 16200 which would indicate an all steel watch, (which I found out after the purchase) however, the case has a 18kt gold fluted bezel and the band is a two-tone jubilee-again, said to be genuine. Do I live with the wrong case back? or do I change the bezel /band to match the case number? Obviously, if the parts are found to be fake, I am out the money and life continues. Any help is appreciated. andrew davis |
