Looking for my first Panerai
I have always been a Rolex fan for expensive watches, but after being in Italy and visiting the Panerai boutiques in Florence and Venice last month, I have the bug to get a Panerai. I have been doing some research on this site as well as others and really prefer some of the older models. What do you guys think of the following for my first Panerai? Any suggestions?
PAM 779 PAM 997 PAM 721 PAM 512 PAM 127 PAM 612 |

The 127 is awesome, but a clean one in VGC may be hard to find and more $$ than I probably want to spend for my first Panerai. I was thinking the 779 since they seem to be reasonably priced and unique. The 127 would be great for a second or grail watch when I find a good one. Thoughts on the 779?

The 127 is a great watch but the prices are very strong, if you want the look and the size look at the 422. It all depends on what you are looking for but another great reference is the 233 Dot. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

So I’ve narrowed it down to the following watches and wanted everyone’s thoughts for my first Panerai.
422 423 605( hard to find a really clean one and probably more than I want to spend) 127(same as above) |

127, if you can swing it. Otherwise, 372 or 422 would be great choices as your first PAM also.
