I’m sure he made a lot of money selling all his watches at market price and above retail (even though the market went down)

Audemars Piguet is a minority shareholder of RM.

Taiwanese AP Collector got banned and sharing his story

Doesn’t AP’s Renaud et Papi division make RM movements or has that changed?

Yes. When I was La Loche earlier in April I saw RM/movements being made within the AP factory.

When AP purchased RP part of the deal was they're free to undertake work for other brands

Agreed, but a Richard Mille is no tool watch but in this case it’s owned by one

Saw him in some videos on promoting MB&F in Taiwan. I love the MB&F brand, but not so much seeing him as an ambassador.

Well, he did sell some APs he got from the AD to fund a grey market purchase, which is how he landed himself in this hot mess. So assuming he told the truth, the AP he purchase grey will likely have taken a hit as well. On top of that, he went and buy the worst possible RM one can think of - a RM67-01 with diamonds.

Honestly, the 67-01 is as basic as one can get from an RM. The finishing is I would say average or below average for that price. MSRP wise it is approx the same as a 5990/1R, yet it feels miles away in terms of build quality. I can understand if it is a RM72-01 or a RM35-03. But 67-01 with diamonds? Might as well take the money and toss it into a drain. In 2 years, he will absolutely regret selling his APs for that overpriced, overrated watch.

Exchanging his exclusive AP’s for these ugly basic RM’s is like trading rare Ferrari’s in for electric hypercars. One will age and become out of fashion very quickly, the other will always be classy and desirable.

Never own RM or plan to own one. AP is my favorite brand and each time I wear AP RO I appreciate owning work of art/horology. Hope he doesn't look back an regret selling all his AP.

Yeah same, I think the local organizer/AD did that...MB&F had nothing to do with it.

OFF: I just re-watched Terminator 3 and I figured out that this movie was sponsored by AP Now I noticed at least three ROs on the heroes, except for Connor who only had a sacred black Japanese quartz

I wish AP would not entertain "influencers" like this. If anything he "influences" me not to be buying any more APs for fear of being associated with cringeworthy tools like him.

(And yeah... I am salty that after selling rare watches after two years he's been offered the rose gold / dark grey dial Jumbo... that's my #1 favourite watch from APs range.)

for all his cringe influencer posting, he still doesn't even have the clout to get anything from the RM boutique and had to go straight to grey

Funny to see some of the responses here. Talk about cringeworthy.

AP really knows how to get people to drink the kool aid.

RMs just don’t do it for me. Other than the Rafa models because I’m a tennis player. The case shape is just bad. Too thick. Etc. fashion watches with awesome tech. Think people will lose interest.

The most egregious thing is the way he mispronounces Richard Mille.

It's not Mille-ay. There is no accent aigu of that e.
