How long did you wait for your 124270 (Explorer 36)?
Just wondering how long those of you who got a 124270 from an AD waited? Obviously it goes without saying that the responses will vary drastically based on many different factors, and that its impossible to determine how long you'll wait based on how long others did. This is just for curiosity.

About three years, from the time the 39mm was around until last spring. The wait was worth it. I didn’t want the 39mm rather was hoping the model would return to its classical proportions of 36mm with the 12 model update. It was wise of Rolex to also issue the Explorer I in a 40mm update for those that prefer a larger watch. The 39mm always felt odd to me on the wrist, the 36 & 40 feel proportional. For a very long time my AD’s were only getting two Explorer 1 per year between multiple locations. Supply dried up a couple of years before the 39mm was officially discontinued. Now I’m being told this is happening to the 126710blro.

Retail wise, no idea.
Saw a couple on the grey market close to and below MSRP. Why wait? Go grey! |

Almost two years...though I live in the UK and didn't request it immediately on launch. Was well worth the wait, might do an incoming thread.

8 months. Asked for it in April '21 at announcement and picked it up the week before Christmas.

This summer (July) I was offered one as a walk in customer at an AD I was texting in advance since I was going on holidays to its location -out of my own country-.
Politely declined, since I was chasing another watch. Luckily few weeks later I've got the call for the one I was looking for from another AD in my city. 5 days later I've got another call for the same watch from my usual AD. |

Me too. Walked into an AD (for second time) and was offered it on the spot
I had my eye on something else, but when I tried it on it just didn’t sit right, but I said hey can I try on the explorer. And immediately I know it fit perfectly and she’s like “it’s available.” Next thing you know I was handing over my CC… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
