Get hyped! John Mayor loves the SS CODE 11.59
https://youtu.be/-wnT3i1GckA?si=c5QnN0YcYlmVqngu
Specifically the chrono version. Discusses it around 59:25. All kidding aside, when you ignore the noise from other people’s opinion surrounding the hype for the RO and the early hate for the Code 11, you will likely understand why many people love the new releases and how they might become iconic watches in a decade or so. The stainless steel models are absolutely amazing releases. I have the blue SS chrono and I surprisingly get more compliments for it than when I wear a RO |

Great episode, and Ed is a hell of a guy... not many collectors have RWS, Patek and 2 AP unique pieces... but still don't get it how he fkd up his ceramic perpetual like that

Impressive that they got Mayer to actually host the episode!
Regardless, that was actually enjoyable. Perhaps because it’s two guys on par with each other and just having a natural conversation…as opposed to some guy swooning over Mayer or Sheeran. Nice collection, but better conversation. Well done. p.s. Really miss my 5726 black dial :) |

Great episode, I bet AP is hoping this endorsement carries as much weight as that of the yellow gold green dial Daytona.

Couldn't agree more with both Mr Mayer and the OP.
I was never in love with the Codes until I held the first blue steel chrono in my hands, and bought it immediately (the first one ever sold my local AP house). The latest dial just looks fantastic, with the additions of the stamped guilloché, and getting rid of the odd looking numerals. And obviously making everything Bleu Nuit Nuage 50. |

Code for me is a way nicer watch than the RO, I’m lucky in owning both. The construction and details on the code is second to none. Then there is the starwheel, different level. I’m hoping my next allocation from AP is another code over an RO. Let’s see :)

No need to hope, just make a request, theres no way they are turning down a request for a code unless they get shocked bec it has never happened before

Plenty of people get turned down for the SS models fyi. Although, if you are patient enough, it’s def possible to get within a few months. I’d say ss codes are about at the same level as SS ROO divers in terms of desirability. Probably one of the best ways to start an AP journey if you are going after a SS RO as a second piece.
