Sea Dweller triple 6 Question

Hello hope everyone is doing well.

I just got a beautiful triple six matte which I love.
But I like better the look of the Acrylic Crystal from the 1680 model.
Does anyone know if by any chance the triple 6 transition model (Mattte dial) was ever made with a synthetic acrylic Dome or always with a sapphire cristal one ?
I would like to replace the dome for a synthetic one which to me give a more vintage look to the watch but I want to stay coherent with the production date and material use at the time.
My Sea Dweller is dated : 1983
Thank you all for your knowledge on the subject and advises.

The 1665 and 16660 were made concurrently with the newer 16660 coming with Sapphire only.
