UK - Datejust 41
Hi all,
New to the forum, I am looking to buy my first Rolex and have booked myself in to the Rolex Boutique in Glasgow. I’m just wondering if I can expect to be able to buy a Datejust 41 and if so, how long am I looking before I get my hands on my dream watch? Thanks. |

Welcome to the forum, it’s all depends on luck & the configuration, you may be able to purchase straight away otherwise maybe a wait. Blue & mint green there’s usually a higher demand. If you got time, try different ADs, wishing you good luck.

Thank you. Fingers crossed. Blue and green fluted are my favourites too. 🙈

They are the 2 most in demand SS DJ41 combos.
However, the demand has dropped significantly, so you should be able to get one in reasonable time. I think a few months.

Its dropped because people buying watches as an investment have disappeared and lets all raise a glass to that!
Try Laings in the Arcade as well. The Rolex Boutique is owned by Watches of Switzerland. How much you have spent with them will be a factor. Laings are a family business and with them, your spend history will be less of an issue. They seem more concerned that you are local. Good luck. I have the blue dial, great watch and very versatile. |

Thanks. I have bought a watch with Mappin and Webb before and they are a part of Watches of Switzerland group, it was a Tag so hopefully that serves me well then.

As mentioned, mint and blue with fluted/jubilee will be much more of a challenge than say smooth/oyster with black or white dial. |

If its not looking good in the Boutique, you could try Laing's in the Arcade but I doubt you'd see much difference there in which case when you leave Laing's, go and see the guys at Tom Coll on the 4th floor. They have a number of pre owned DJ41s in stock, are an absolute pleasure to deal with, have a stunning showroom and will provide a much nicer overall experience than any Rolex AD will. I can personally vouch for them having bought 5 watches from them and sold them 3

Good luck with your watch hunt. I find the Rolex Boutique very good. Lots of watches to try on though not necessarily the configuration you would want for a DJ. Tom Coll has an excellent supply and there’s a good chance your desired watch will be available so at worse you could try it on there to confirm it’s the one you want.
I’ve had mixed experiences from Laings, from awful to worse. At one stage they were only going to let me into the store if I agreed to look at Tudor rather than Rolex (I don’t think they sell Tudor now). Good luck |
