Initially, I inquired about both the BLNR and BLRO. I was told the BLRO would definitely take longer, possibly twice as long or more.

I preferred the BLNR anyway, so that’s what I specified. It took me 15 months to get it. I do have a buying history with AD. There is no way I’d get either if I didn’t.

I was able to get a BLNR and a VTNR from my AD this year. He told me that he could not currently get me a BLRO if I wanted one, wouldn't explain why.

This is what I found to be true too. SA and store manager go to bat, while the store owner makes to final decision.

I think that AD is not receiving any BLRO for a very long time.what ever incomings we see now are received by AD very early this year kept as a exhibition piece and given to some now. Hence they are not able to commit to even their most valued customer

It really depends on AD, relationship, and spend. For me it was about 2 weeks. I was picking up a pair of his and her datejust for wife and I in 2021 that I ordered (when it was possible). Manager came out, thanked me for business (at this point I knew the manager for last 10 year). He asked me what I wanted next. I said Pepsi...

When you look at it this way, it could be quite a shrewd move from Rolex to discontinue the Pepsi would it not?
People are already clamouring to purchase the Pepsi, demand hasn't died down on the Pepsi yet, it's getting larger with time. Now Rolex makes money and lets it's ADs make money by pushing Datejusts and other unpopular references up the throat of customers before giving them a Pepsi. If it gets discontinued only grey and people who already own it make money. Rolex doesn't need more people talking about the brand, it's already king. Drives prices even higher for who? Rolex won't make money on the grey market Pepsi. Better discontinue the white Panda if they want to do that, although I don't see any reason for that. Either Mk4 Pepsi is coming or a redesign of the GMT case, and a white gold Coke. The Rootbeer may get discontinued because two TT models is too much for the GMT line.

I asked for a BLRO last December and was told I would get one, but I had to be patient. Over the summer I spoke with the AD and she said the same thing, I would eventually get one but it would probably be early 2024. I was at the AD a few weeks ago buying a gift for my wife and spoke with the SA again. They had most GMT versions in the display only cases, with the exception of the Pepsi. She said the same thing we've seen all over the forum. Haven't seen many at all, supposed issues with the bezel, possible discontinuation, etc. She admitted these were all rumors and guesses. All she knew is they've only seen a couple this year. I was back at the AD this weekend to pick up an appraisal, and when the SA saw me she said "look what we got..." They now had a Pepsi on jubilee in the display only case with the rest of the GMT's. She said it came in two days after I was there last and she thought of me right away. She hinted that after it spends their required amount of time on display, I would get a call. So, maybe a month? Two? We will see.
On one of the previous visits, she asked if I would be interested in a rootbeer or new two tone version, after trying both on, as I could have either one of those very quickly, but I declined. I told her I wasn't looking for just the newest version or something to flip. I only wanted the watch I really liked, and would be happy to wait for it.

Someone explain to me the rationale of putting a highly desired piece on display for a month so it can be tried on by possibly 100 people before being offered to someone who has waited several years.

Why not just offer it to the intended person straight out of the shipping coffin?

I ask this because my AD had me come in to see the latest 12xxx rose gold daytona to see if I'd be interested after it was exhibited for a period. Stickers or not I would think PM pieces will exhibit "case wear."

All my PM show wear after brief use.

If one believes the oft repeated anecdote, many dealers under RolexUSA are now required to keep a certain amount of inventory to use as “exhibition models.” When they receieve new replacement shipments they can then sell the ones on display. I would buy one that way for a high demand piece, the watches are stickered until delivered and warranty would start when you take delivery.

I tried on a Celebration dial OP41 at WOS in Hudson Yards last month. That’s high in demand right now, I’m sure it’s promised to a good client.

This is 100% true. I visit a local ad a lot. I see tons of pieces on display then when next one comes in one is gone. Right now a steel Daytona is on display to try on handle ect. Once a 126 ref shows up that steel Daytona will be allocated to client. All the ad watches are like that now. They actually sold the original display pieces from Rolex at retail with no cards.

Tons of steel sports on display too but will never sell one to a walk in.

Very Hard. I'm not sure about your spending or relationship with AD. It's definitely very difficult as the demand is just too overwhelming.

I got my Pepsi at my ad after about 8 months. I bought a Tudor Pepsi for my birthday in march. I ended up getting a voicemail at the end of November saying we got Pepsi in and we are going down the list. Needless to say I took off work early and picked it up.

Meteorite and green, other colour dial Daytonas are coming back soon. Anything popular on Dataynos will not be discontinued for long. Rolex just didn't have time with the new case and movment models to do everything this year.
