Selling back to the AD (UK)
Hi all,
I hope that we are all enjoying the festive period. Just wondered if anyone had any experience selling back to their AD. Especially with the new certified pre owned scheme. I shop with WOS. I have couple of pieces that I don’t really wear anymore. I’ve heard they only take watches over 3 years old…..but it’s a catch 22, if I ask them about it they will know I am considering selling….but to them can they really want to black list me? Not sure if it’s playing with fire with one last watch on my hit list. As ever, any advice on would be much appreciated |

Yes WOSG do CPO now.
They’re not going to black list you for requesting an offer, they’re happy to do so. 3+years old as you say. |

If you are selling a used Rolex that is 3+ years old, ADs are now buying. It will inevitably come down to how much they are offering or possibly what they are offering as a part exchange. Some real life experiences are going to be reported in due course.

Now that they are running the CPO I would of thought it’s not an issue

I don’t think they will “black list” you at merely an inquiry if price for the CPO. Especially if you plan on using the same AD to purchase your next piece.

You won’t be black listed because they’d rather you sell it back to them. Plus I know that when you do sell back to WOS they will still sell you another Rolex that you may want and or register another Rolex to keep your custom. You can also part exchange your current watch for another one.

No one can tell you if you’ll be black listed or not and they certainly won’t admit to doing that, so it’s down to whatever you think really. My thoughts are that its a bad idea - they will give you less than you’ll get elsewhere and it’s more likely to count against you, than for you.

Yes, I did...... No issues whatsoever. They were happy I chose to go back to them as a long term customer. Part ex a piece I purchased from my UK AD to fund another piece at retail from them. Fair deal, everyone was happy.
