GS Sport GMT on leather

After almost three months I finally received my custom Martù straps for the 245.

While (perhaps unfairly so) I'm not the biggest fan of leather straps in terms of practicality, I find these to be a perfect autumn accessory to match my wax jackets and the general attire.

One is plain and one with stitching all around. Both colored after the "polished mahogany dial" idea on the GS website model description. I opted for some off-white threading to match the lumed bezel numerals and hands/indices.

The underside of the straps is full grain leather, intentionally adding to the thickness, to compliment the beefier GS 44 case.

Taper is also custom from 21-18mm which imho is the golden ratio for such lug width.

The straps look and feel very well made and durable while being supple enough to wear comfortably even brand new.
I expect them to be extremely comfortable once fully broken in.

Overall very happy and Andrea's craftsmanship is top notch.

You need to get a proper GS buckle.
This one is a let down.

I can always fit the GS one from the silicone strap. But this one will do for the purpose

A couple more pics. IMO This watch is very nice on its bracelet but on this leather, it really transforms into something magical.

Proper buckle: Check!

Always open to good advice

The springbar is so much sturdier, too

Very nice combo.

Next time you commission a custom strap, consider adding 'padding'. It results in a very elegant strap.
