Fully Polished Jubilee Bracelet

Hello everyone. New member from Maryland here. I recently acquired my fathers Rolex Model #1503 in 14K gold with a jubilee bracelet. The serial number dates it as a 1966 vintage. The question I have relates to the bracelet. All 5 links of the bracelet are fully polished. Did Rolex ever make a jubilee bracelet fully polished without the brushed outer links? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

It can be sleeve polished.
Brushing on lugs also disappears over time

Thank you for the quick reply, but this does not appear to be sleeve polishing.

You can re-brush the outer links if you prefer that. Very easy to do. If you want to know if the bracelet is legit and/or original, we will need to see good photos.

If the image is too large, you will usually get a message letting you know the pixel limits and overall size limit.

I can't really evaluate the bracelet in detail from the photos, but it's pretty clear that the clasp and bracelet have been polished over the years. It's also very stretched out, so you might consider restoration if you are planning to use it. The bracelet is quite valuable.

Just as an FYI, the very bright white lume on hands and dial might suggest that they are service replacement parts, so your father may have had the watch maintained by Rolex at some point. A better look at the dial and hands would help us confirm that, if you're interested.

Here is a close-up of the dial. My mother thinks he had the dial replaced at some point. I wish I could ask him, but I lost him last month. I sure do miss him.

Am I seeing that the Center of the crown is to the left of the hash mark? Normally everything is perfectly centered with a Gen.
Could be just the angle of the photo...

Very sorry to hear about your loss. You have a great heirloom. If the watch is definitely from 1966 (if you post the first few numbers of the serial, like, 1,543,XXX, we can confirm), my feeling is that the dial and hands were replaced later. If the watch was serviced by Rolex, and the dial were at all stained or the lume was degrading, they would have recommended it.

I think it’s the angle of the photo. It looks perfectly centered to me. Thanks.

Thanks Dan S. The first four numbers of the serial number are 1416xxx.

1966 is likely.

Funny, I just noticed the photo showing a Rolex service box, which certainly confirms that your father had the watch serviced by Rolex.

I was hoping you would notice the box. That’s why I included that photo. I am still curious to know if Rolex ever manufactured fully polished jubilee bracelets? In the last 10 years of my Dad’s life he wore this on a leather strap.

Did Rolex ever ...? Rolex did so many things, those are hard questions to answer. But there is a good reference thread that you might enjoy perusing.
