I prefer the 18038 for the thicker lugs and thicker case but the 18238 has the advantage of better movement. Can’t go wrong with any 5 digit Day Date in my opinion.

The 18238 is a classic but I sold mine and don't regret it. I am looking to upgrade one day to the 40 and the one pictured here with the silver roman dials and yellow gold look incredible!!

While the DD is a great watch, I don't want a day complication. If I don't know what day it is, I am ready for the Alzheimer's unit and don't need a precious metal watch for some employee to steal.
