How to report stolen watch ?

My watch was snatched off my arm in BA, Argentina in the San Telmo neighborhood. I'm sure I was followed and tipped off by someone who was watching me at the Market. I was not hurt but I hope the scum chokes on the watch. We were able to get a Police Report and had to return the next day to add the Serial # and Description of the watch for insurance purposes. Reporting to Rolex to be completed by the AD we purchased the watch from, insurance claim submitted and Watch Finder to be notified.
Any other tips on reporting is welcomed. Thanks

How could they take the watch off your hand? I really don't get it. I understand the chain but the watch?

Welcome to TRF. Every couple of years this thread seems to get bumped. I'm sorry you had this experience that led you here but here is my personal advice.

Don't assume the AD did the report correctly. I would use the info that others posted above to call RUSA in NYC to verify they have your stolen watch report duly entered in the Rolex database.

If the watch was fairly new, and you'd like to broaden the scope of knowledge for the watch community, I recommend starting a new thread here on TRF. Explain what happened and include new information such as model number, serial number, pictures of your watch before the theft (or grab a stock photo from the internet that depicts the exact model and dial you had). The reason is Google crawls TRF and picks up this data. My own thread about my stolen Rolexes played a crucial role in my recovery of a stolen Platona.

Lastly, if you did receive an insurance reimbursement, that insurance company stands "first in line" to claim the watch if it is recovered. If this is an older watch with greater sentimental value than the money you received, perhaps register your desire to refund your reimbursement to the insurance company if it is recovered. Do that in writing, do it to the claims department, your agent, their corporate legal department and your own attorney if you have one.
