Rose gold on strap battle:)

Hi all, I’m choosing in between discontinued reference 26401ro 44mm and even older discontinued 26120or 39mm. I’m 6,5 feet tall and think can pull off 44m. It will still be a big watch, but on the other hand i am a bit concerned if 39mm might look too small on my wrist. I know that historically 39mm has been the most desirable size for Royal Oak and it should be much comfortable to wear than the big 44mm, but black ceramic bezel in combination with RG case looks so striking. Which of them would be your choice? Thx

Rose gold on strap battle

I have these two, and I prefer the 43. It’s probably my all time favorite watch actually. So although it’s not apples to apples I’d take the offshore- weirdly it’s way more comfortable.

I have 38mm and 39m ROCs and a 43mm ROO. I am much shorter at 5'9" with about a 6.75" wrist. At your size, I'd definitely recommend the Offshore unless you really want a dual time. And with the ROO you're considering, there is a nice ceramic bezel which will protect the softer gold case.

Tough call… 44 being a bit more sporty, and visually much, much bigger, vs the 39mm. I guess for me, it would come down to what my intent of use was for the watch. Assuming being able to pull off either size… If it were going to be a mostly casual/fun type watch, (although I know you could technically dress it up)…I’d probably lean towards the ROO. But…I think the 39 mm could do both dressy and sporty pretty easily, especially if you found a rubber strap for it.

Given your size 100% go with the offshore every time. I am 5’11 and have the RG44
which I wear every weekend.
38 wears ‘bigger’ with a bracelet. With strap it wears close to size of 39mm so will be too small for you (IMO).
Also the ceramic bezel gives almost care free wear (one of the reasons I moved from 42mm offshore) as I have found ceramic does not scratch (not impossible but with some care simply does not happen).
Finally I prefer white/cream sub dials but that’s just me I guess ;)

That 26120OR 39mm is at the Christies Auction right now I was looking at Bidding on it! I talked to the Auction Director and you can ship it to the States without the strap and have up to a year to get the strap! There are some people there I can contact to pick up the strap, If I dont head out there in the next year! DEPENDS on how high it goes! IM ALWAYS HUNTING FOR THE DEALS!!!!

its sitting at 140,000 HDK right now with Premium = $25k USD still 12 days of the auction left to go $39K on Chrono24 is the cheapest right now!

You have the wrist for 44mm, I like the look of 26401OR better.

Offshore on strap is perfect but the Royal Oak needs to be on the bracelet. The watch was designed around the integrated bracelet and IMO looks naked on a strap

How does the 43mm wear on you? Would be great to see some near/far pics

Aren't there other fees involved with Christies? or does the seller take on all that?

Go for the ROO, can even dress it up for fancy dinners and weddings etc.
