1976 6694 Bracelet question

I just picked up a 1976 6694 and the bracelet has a lot of stretch. The bracelet is a 7205 with a 7835 clasp from 1988. My question is what bracelet did a 1976 6694 come with? I would really like to get it back to what it came with if possible.

1976 is the cutover from say a 7835 folded link to a 78350 thick/solid link. Thus either could be correct.

btw a 78350 make the watch head feel bigger/more substantial - it's weird how they do !

Your 7205 later clasp p/x/selling/trade value circa £300

7835 good no of links £400

78350 £450

Prices in the USA are substantially higher. A nice, complete 78350 with all its links could cost as much as $750 or more. The 7205 is much more expensive in the USA also.

I have my very similar 6494 on a 78350 with 557 end-links and it is one of my favorite bracelets. You can also pick-up a new 78350 from your AD…….might be worth considering as an option.

The bracelet it came with has 60 end links and a 7835 clasp. I cannot find any markings on any of the links. Is it common for the bracelet to not have any, I'm assuming they might have been polished off or could the links be generic non rolex links?

If I cant find used I might have to go that route. I contacted a local AD but they couldn't price over the phone.

I thought you said it was a 7205 bracelet with a 7835 clasp. If there are no markings on the links, how did you come to know that it is a 7205 bracelet? Most 7205 bracelets have "7205" marked on the last link before the endlink. And I don't think polishing would erase it.

Now, very early 7206 bracelets, from the early 60s IIRC, don't have 7206 marked on the last link. I don't know if the same was true for 7205 bracelets.

I assumed it was a 7205, that’s my mistake. Didn’t think there was more than 1 riveted bracelet that fit the 6694.

The #60 endlinks do suggest that it might be a 7205 (e.g. not a US-made bracelet), but the absence of an engraving raises questions. And since the clasp has clearly been swapped, who knows what else was done. Good photos from all angles can avoid a lot of guesswork and speculation.

Went to my local AD and they quoted $1095 for a new 78350 bracelet they said there is 4 variations of the 78350 and they would need to confirm which one I needed. Does that sound right. He did say they would need to contact Rolex to confirm availability also.

Sounds about right about 80% of a dealer 78360 price.

Way too much to pay imho, and the new bracelet will look out of keeping unless the head is mint.

I bought a lovely 78350/557's for just £426 on ebay last week with just a smidge (about 12 degrees) of stretch - so comfy - how I like it, sure you can too, if you look.

I think I got lucky found a used one with an A stamped clasp.

What’s the difference between the 557 and 557b end links?
