16014 Datejust Full Set - Fair Price??

I've found my birth year Datejust online. A 1983 16014 Datejust with a sunburst blue dial, original box and papers in great condition. It is short 3 links.

I think the retailer is priced high asking $7,500. What would a fair price be for this one? Don't want to insult but want to make sure I'm getting some value. Pics attached.

Thanks!

Blue dial adds value, but the case looks kind of mediocre in those photos. With box and papers, maybe $4500-$5k from a dealer if you can verify that the hands and dial have original tritium. The lume just looks extremely white in the photos.

Wow... high price for sure. He's asking about 2.5K above market for a watch that is in "average" condition.

Up to you. I wouldn't though. You can do much much better.

Don’t pay over the odds because it just so happens to be a birth year watch. As mentioned by the others it’s overpriced and you can probably do better

Common batton dial, albeit blue, is a £3,800 watch imho. A full set panna dial/roman numerals version sold in UK on ebay for £3,200 last week.

The blue dial adds a lot to the price/value ..... if it's original. So many vintage blue DJ dials are refinished, replaced or just a wreck. They often did not age well.

This dial looks suspiciously clean. I'd want to investigate further to confirm originality. Regardless, still overpriced.

Personally I would keep looking. As others have said this is rather high for an average condition DJ. With how crisp the dial looks compared to the rest of the watch I would guess that it has been refinished.
