Pretty crazy price for a watch with a service dial. I'm not an expert but that's a pretty obvious issue.

I don’t think it is a service dial. It looks wrong to me.

Where is the chapter ring and footer nomenclature - even T25 service are chapter ring with T25 underneath ?
Not keen™...

Does any part of it look correct? Maybe the case? Not the crown, hands, dial, inset. Bezel and case?
Perhaps the c&i bracelet? End links have no code on them? Perhaps that is fine? It is listed as coming with the original box. I suppose that is the least of the issues. |

I hope it’s just out of curiosity and not an actual serious thought of buying this watch.

Maybe look at this one instead. Not a 5508 but a 6538 it came up with your link. Much more interesting. Bond, James Bond… I am going to have a martini now! Carry on Money Penney. https://www.ebay.com/itm/196398765970

WGS. Interesting. And a wave box. I’d throw in a low ball offer perhaps on the 40s

$40,000? Really?
OP here -
I wasn't looking to buy the subject watch but I was seeking informed opinions because I'm trying to learn about 5508s. Whenever I see one I critique it based upon what I've learned from studying the relevant postings on this forum. Even with what little I know, I didn't like the watch under discussion. (I only own this one vintage watch and it's been seen here before.) |

Case looks wrong. Could just be lousy photos
If case is OK, watch is worth a third (quarter?) of the ask
