16710 Bezel Ring

Hello experts,

I'm just starting to get into 5 digits and came across a very good condition (to my untrained eye) 16710. I noticed that some (not all) of the "notches" in the steel bezel ring have horizontal lines in the finish. I only realized it because my six digits all show a light uniformly brushed vertical finish inside them.

I'm wondering if this is typical of five digits, a sign of refinishing, aftermarket bezel, etc.
